One year on from the Fracking Inquiry, what is the cost of repealing the moratorium? Environmental protections are being eroded and governments are spending public money to get the gas out of the ground, while the inflated and discredited economic promises continue.

Join The Australia Institute’s Senior Researcher Tom Swann for an evening of facts and economic myth-busting, and help him answer the question: with so much sun and space, why is the NT backing fracking instead of solar?

About Tom Swann:
Tom Swann is Senior Researcher in the Climate and Energy Program at The Australia Institute, an independent think tank based in Canberra. His work on fracking for oil and gas in the NT highlights the small economic benefits and the large climate damage from fracking for gas in the NT. Tom’s research showed revealed how Scott Morrison used Commonwealth payments to “frackmail” the NT into repealing the fracking ban.
