You’ve watched the budget speech, listened to the radio and read the paper. You know the main measures in the budget but what does it all mean? Is the government still trying to reduce the deficit? Are they trying to stimulate the economy and are they interested in tax reform?

This year's budget has some confusing messages. How can falling iron ore prices be the big villain if they are well above their long run average? After going to two elections on the issue does Tony Abbott think paid parental leave is important or not? Is housing affordability an issue that no party will touch?

Unpack the confusion and the mayhem of this year’s budget with a panel of Australia Institute economists. Come along to this month’s Politics in the Pub to hear about where the government is trying to take us and how successful they are likely to be.
