Coal and Climate: Winners and losers in Townsville

RSVP Below

Coal industry advocates often seek to portray the issue of new coal mines as a choice between action on climate change and jobs.

These arguments often exaggerate the potential jobs benefits and ignore the economic downsides of new coal development. They also ignore the enormous potential costs of climate change.

Mark Ogge, Principal Adviser on Climate and Energy at The Australia Institute, will explain the reality of the economic impacts of big resource projects, and the potential climate impacts on the Townsville region.

Tickets $5 at the door, includes FREE PIZZA!
