Cut though the spin and find out what gas development really means for Territorians.

FREE, but registrations essential!

Did you know that NT drivers pay 30 times more in vehicle registration than the gas industry pays in royalties?

Or that Inpex and Santos don’t pay for the gas they export from the NT?

Cut through the gas industry spin and find out what gas development really means for the NT.

The Australia Institute is delighted to welcome Darwin Pediatrician Dr Louise Woodward to discuss the health impacts of fracking and petrochemicals at the proposed Middle Arm development, and local tourism operator Rob Woods to discuss how gas mega projects effect the tourism industry and small businesses in general.

The Australia Institute’s senior researcher Mark Ogge, will discuss the Institute’s research on the economic impacts of gas in the NT.

Find out:

  • How much tax and royalties does the gas industry pay?
  • How much of the NTs revenue comes from gas?
  • How many people does the gas industry really employ?
  • The health impacts of petrochemical development
  • How gas mega-projects effect prices, rents and small businesses?
