Politics in the Pub with Kirstie Parker: 'Closing the Gap' on Indigenous Health
Come along to our August Politics in the Pub to hear Kirstie Parker speak about the Close the Gap campaign for Indigenous health equality.
Kirstie Parker is a Yuwallarai Aboriginal woman from northwestern NSW. Kirstie is also a Director of Reconciliation Australia. She has received numerous awards for her work, most recently an Australian Peacewoman Award by the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) in May 2015.She is an elected Co-Chair of the National Congress for Australia’s First Peoples, and also co-chairs the national Close the Gap Steering Committee, which campaigns for action to achieve Indigenous health equality, and the National Justice Coalition, which campaigns to end the overrepresentation of Indigenous people within the justice system.
This event is jointly hosted by The Australia Institute, Oxfam and ANTaR ACT.
